The simple things
One of the things that inspires my illustrations is the idea of enjoying what one has in life, rather than wanting what one doesn't have. Experiencing the joy in the little things is very important and I feel this makes sure that no time is wasted waiting for great things to happen, or waiting for bad times to be over. I believe that life is short and the more you can find happiness in, the better!
Finding the negatives in things is actually very easy compared to finding the positives. The effort is worth it, however, through this hard work one can find fulfilment and a clear head. From my common practise of positive thinking, I love to illustrate the beauty in the 'mundane' and the 'wet and cold'. A rainy day doesn't have to be a ruined day out. It can be a cosy day in, a day where you can wrap up in a duvet and read a book without feeling guilty. When it's freezing cold, it doesn't have to mean a miserable walk. It can be a beautiful feeling of stepping back into a warm house, taking off the muddy wellingtons and the thick coats, and getting the feeling back into your hands with a cup of tea.
