I am Emily Hocking, a Kent based artist and illustrator, with an aim to spread positivity through watercolours!

I specialise in children's books and editorial illustrations, as well as offering fine art, retouching, design and photography services.

My journey with art started when I could first hold a pencil as a child. I would spend hours drawing and painting. I then discovered the art in photography during my teen years, which I then pursued at The University for the Creative Arts. After graduating I worked photographing and editing products for a local company's website. As I became very well practised in editing imagery, I then became employed by an Advertising Agency as a Retoucher a few years later. During this employment I have gained a lot more experience with design programs and found great enjoyment in creating digital illustrations. Throughout the last twelve years, I have been taking commissions for art and photography in my spare time and I am very happy to say I can now offer more. I have always been a person who relishes variety in my life and work!

As an artist, my goal is to creative positive, expressive art that can resonate with anyone, through multiple mediums. My portfolio includes original and quality illustration, fine art, retouching, design and photography. I offer a selection of prints, originals, cards and more, including Phoebe the Bee, the first picture book I have had the pleasure of illustrating. With so much beauty in the world, I hope to use art to remind us all what we have to be grateful for.
